Early Childhood and Elementary Education


Childhood Education (Certification)
This Masters degree program is designed for students who have undergraduate degrees in other fields but wish to become early childhood and/or elementary classroom teachers.  The program emphasizes practical experiences in the classroom before graduation and students will have approximately 1000 hours of experience before entering the field.  Class A Certification at the state level in early childhood education and elementary education will allow graduates to begin their careers at master salaries and be highly qualified to work with children from Birth – Grade 6.
Alternative Childhood Education Plan of Study


Childhood Education (Non-Certification)
This Masters degree program is designed for students who have undergraduate degrees in other fields but wish to graduate in early childhood and elementary education.  The program emphasizes practical experiences in the classroom before graduation and students will have approximately 400 hours of experience working with children between Birth – Grade 6 before graduation. This degree program will not lead to any state certification but graduates in this program may work in classrooms that do not require state certification.

Traditional M.Ed. Elementary Education
This Masters degree program is designed for students who have undergraduate degrees/Class B Certification in elementary education and wish to broaden their knowledge base in elementary education leading to Class A Certification and a salary increase upon graduation.

Traditional M.Ed. Elementary Education (Option in Early Childhood Education)
This Masters degree program is designed for students who have undergraduate degrees/Class B Certification in early childhood education and wish to broaden their knowledge base in early childhood education leading to Class A Certification and a salary increase upon graduation.

Education Specialist Elementary Education
This program is designed for students who have M.Ed. degrees/Class A Certification in elementary education and who wish to broaden their knowledge base in elementary education leading to Class AA Certification and a salary increase upon graduation.
