We can all agree, there’s nothing better than seeing that spark in the eyes of a child who has just realized that they understand—and they like it. Nothing beats that feeling as an elementary teacher. Now let’s talk about how AUM can help you experience that even more often.

Raise your hand if you’d like to earn your advanced degree from a school that was ranked as a “Best Education School” by U.S. News & World Report in 2011. In fact, among other categories, AUM was recognized specifically for “Elementary Teacher Education.” Now raise the other hand if you’d prefer to earn your master’s from a school that’s been accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). We hope you have both of your hands raised high. If so, we have even more good news.

AUM is proud to offer you the best instruction around for an M.Ed. in Elementary Education, and we continue to invest in future success (yours and ours) by making sure our classes remain small, with plenty of time for personal interaction with your professors. Some courses are also available online for your convenience.

Details concerning various concentrations
Our Secondary Education concentration places an emphasis on teaching general science, biology, chemistry, English, fine arts, general social science, history and mathematics.

Our Special Education concentration is ideal for teachers who have a heart for the special needs of children, adolescents and young adults. If you want to make a difference in the lives of students with disabilities, this concentration is for you.

If you’re interested in any of the above concentrations or a general M.Ed. in Elementary Education, AUM offers quality instruction and the confidence of a recognized reputation. Complete a Graduate Studies program with Auburn Montgomery, and you’ll be in a position to qualify for more teaching positions and a higher salary (compared to not earning an M.Ed.). Diane Neese

M.Ed., Reading Education, ‘98

Diane Neese was, she says, one of the children who slipped through the cracks in school.

Struggling with dyslexia, she still couldn’t read by the time she was 10. Despite this, teacher after teacher passed her, and it wasn’t until her sixth-grade teacher worked with her directly that Neese learned to read. more
